I love this product soooo much! The smell is amazing and it leaves a nice feeling on my hair honestly. I would highly recommend this product but the only issue for me is the price itself =/ and the high shipping rate for Curlmart so I may not be buying this product again for a while. :(

OMG!!! I got this today in the mail. Opened it up and smelled it. Talk about AMAZING smell. It was wash day so, after I washed my hair etc, put it on my hair....was so moisturizing XD. I never got that feeling ever with any leave in. My hair is loving me now hahah. Sad that it comes in 8 oz though.

This is my staple moisturizer! I love to use this once my hair is about 75% airdried! I place it on my hair from root to tip and my hair airdries so soft and silky. I love the fact that it has no glycerin so I can use it all year round! The smell is like sugar cookies, I don't mind it, but the scent is not my fave. But other than the scent, I can't say anything negative about this product!

You know the old saying..."if it ain't broke, dont fix it" Well, I am a product junkie and had been trying a host of other products. My hair became dry and straw like and shedding like crazy. I pulled out my ol trusty Hair Dew and it went to work restoring the moisture to my hair. I will never EVER deviate again. Many say they don't like the smell but it reminds me of cake or cookie batter...soft and sweet. My hair feels amazing after an application of this liquid gold on my 4a curls. My hair is fine and coily and drinks this up. A true thirst quencher. This is a must have staple

I am very pleased with this super moisturizing leave-in. My hair says "YES" everytime i use it. Its very creamy (not thin like a lotion) and provides excellent conditioning for my curls. I use it on dry hair when re-twisting at night on the 2nd or 3rd day of a twist-out, or i spray my hair with a little water to soften and use it all over as a leave-in. It gives me soft and shiny hair, your curls will thank you. NOTE: the smell is VERY sweet and strong, it may be too much for some.

First of all this stuff smells amazing!! It smells just like my late great-grandmother's homemade cakes. Secondly, Hair Dew is a wonderful moisturizer. I use it mainly at night before bed and then put my scarf on, when I wake up my hair is so soft and moisturized. I have not used it as a leave-in and I plan to try it as such one day soon.

I've been using the Hair Dew as a leave-in and LOVE how soft my hair feels. My hair also feels non-gunky thanks to the quick absorbence of this product (something I don't always love, but in this case...it's a win). The smell is yummy, a kind of cocoa-cookie-burnt sugar sort of scent. It's only been a couple of days, but I highly recommend.

I really like this product. It's good for a leave in, but I prefer to use it on dry hair. It's good when my hair needs some moisture or something against the frizz. Smell is nice, but a little bit overwhelming, but still, very good product for second day hair.

This leave in is decent as far as moisture goes. I have used better but the smell is too strong. It was almost nauseating. After I finish this product I'm done with Oyin as I've read most of their products have that strong chocolate sugary scent.

So I must say this has always been a staple in my baby girls hair because of all the natural ingredients and moisture its the only thing that works on her very delicate curls. But for me not so much. Although it did moisterize it was never heavy enough to seriously consider styling with....I had no curl definition! BUT I have found a new use for it... after I deep conditioned I rinsed with cold water (not fun) and added a dime size amount of leave in (kckt) and a nickel size amount of my preferred styler, curl junkie curls in a bottle... I sat under the dryer so I could dry quickly Cuz its cold outside but I must have you a smidget too much Cuz my curls were well defined but crunchy. So what to do what to do??? Big surprise I scrunch in a nickel size amount of hair dew and VOILÀ crunch is gone and curls are soft springy moisterized and still well defined. Now that's what I call teamwork lol
BTW my curls are 3b/c

Excellent!!! It gives me the exact same results as Cantu Shea butter except this uses natural ingredients. This is a much musky-er scent like coffee, while cantu is a lighter fruitier scent. I use this as a leave in on naked hair after washed and shampooed. The scent matches the burnt sugar. It's light which is great for my 4a fine hair

I hope they don't change Greg juice and burnt suga formula. ) :

This smells so delicious, like some kind of scrumptious dessert, so I was sort of in love off the bat. And the love affair did not end when I actually used it in my hair. It's the perfect combination of rich, thick, and creamy without weighing down my curls. I love that I can use it while my hair is wet or dry, and it is perfect for smoothing my hair out when I'm wearing an up do' or pony tail.

Love this! The consistency is like lotion. For me, it is an all in one leave in. I don't have to add oil (like KCKT), it doesn't leave my hands gunky or feel weird (like CJ Smoothing Lotion). It leaves my hair very soft and makes it ready for a styler. Decent detangler, but KCKT is the best for detangling. The smell is sweet, but not offputting. As an added bonus, I can put a little on my 6 month old daughter's hair, and it works wonderfully, with no build up! I just ordered two more bottles!

I was hesitant about this cause for some reason, my hair doesn't typically like lotion like products. I initially tried the sample size, and it ended being one of those situations where I wish I would have purchased the full size. The hair dew is amazing!! I use it to get 2nd, 3rd, and sometimes 4th day hair....which was nearly impossible before! This stuff smells great!!! And helps spring my curls to shape! HG product!!!

the hair dew is great. the smell is nice- like burnt sugary vanilla-ish. i used it as a leave in and it left my hair soft. but for winter dry air i prefer oyin's whipped pudding as my leave in. this is wonderful for refreshing 2nd and 3rd day hair. i take some in my palm and scrunch it in. it helps give the bounce back to my hair and also combats frizz. err on the side of less with this product, it can be easy to overuse.

3B: Love it. Been using it for 2-3 years now. Have tried other leave-ins but never get the same results as Hair Dew. Has a nice vanilla/coconut scent. Not heavily scented. Provides just enough moisture for my curls. A little goes a long way. Easily finger-combed through hair. Two thumbs up!

I am currently transitioning to natural and my hair can be on the dry side. When I use this it instantly makes my hair soft. I use to use Shea moisture curl and style milk and the hair dew beats it in my opinion and does a wonderful job keeping my hair moisturized for days on end. I will repurchase. I love this stuff. I've tried other leave-in conditioners and this one is being added to my favorites list. The great thing about this conditioner is that, unlike my other favorite, Giovanni Direct Leave In, this conditioner is a little lighter so my hair dries faster. I really love the smell, too. I use it on my daughter's hair and on my own. It makes detangling our 4a/b curls/coils easy and provides lasting moisture and softness.

I don't get the hype. This did nothing for my hair. This sat on my hair, wt and dry, and didn't provide any long-term moisture. It worked for maybe an hour, but not much more. Furthermore, the smell is a turn-off - it was amusing during the application, but I didn't want to walk around all day smelling like cotton candy. It also left my hands feeling rough, which was odd. After all of my other all-natural hair products, my hands feel just as moisturized as my hair.

Only a few products are true gamechangers and this is one. I'm actually on a reviewing spree today after a few years of not logging onto NC so that I can give credit to the companies that create awesome products that have been in my rotation for a while (read: two years or more). The Hair Dew moisturizes my hair. While that sounds like a simple statement, it means a whole lot for curly heads, kinky heads, and coily headed women who have trouble keeping their hair moisturized. My hair is fine, coily 4a/4b and low porosity meaning it does not wet easily, is flyaway and neglects to hold onto styles or moisture. You couldn't tell all of those things looking at my hair----because of the Hair Dew. My hair feels smooth, looks lustrous, dark, crazy sheen and doesn't feel greasy. Jamyla and Pierre have somehow concocted the perfect combination of penetrating oils (coconut, olive), humectants (castor), moisture (water) and other goodness that balances out the moisture in your hair overtime without greasiness or buildup. It works so well and so consistently, that I do not alternate with other leave-ins (although I use KCKT as a water-based leave-in after every wash and alone in the Summer when Hair Dew is too heavy---see KCKT review for explanation). The 16.9 oz is always at hand. I can use it alone, on my coily days under Sophia's Hair Grease and KCCC, on my twistout days under Sophia's Hair Grease or KBB cream, and even in the Fall when I flat-iron my hair for moisture and heat protection.

TYPE 3C/4A This product is amazing! I use this on two strand twists, which is now my go to style. I apply on clean wet hair and allow to air dry (or sometimes dry under bonnet dryer) and the finished product is ALWAYS soft, fluffy, defined and moisturized twists. I literally don't need moisture until day 3 or 4. I pair this with Oyins Shine & Define (which I attribute the definition to) and seal my ends with Oyins Burnt Sugar Pomade. The smell I love..it smells just like the BSP. Love love love this!!!

I'm on second day hair with this right now! and i had my hair up earlier this AM and my hair still looks as good as the first day! That is amazing. I also rub it over any frizz. i have dry frizzy hair at my crown and i just take pinch of this and rub it over those frizzy curls and they look great :D
My hair is medium density, 3a/b, low/normal porosity if that helps.

Hair dew-ya! It's good used by self but to achieve a really good twist out and moisturized twists I started by conditioning with Joney Hemp conditioner then applied Hair Dew and last used Shine and Define. Twists were moisturized and when I took them out they were really well defined. The ingredients are really good but I prefer shine and define over this.

I was super excited to try this, since I wanted a leave-in with no protein or glycerin, but this was a huge disappointment. Although some thicker leave-ins work well for me, some ingredient in this - maybe the castor oil, since I haven't used another product containing that before - made my hair really greasy and stringy. I also like to rely on my leave-ins to provide some added frizz control as well as moisture, and this contributed nothing in that department. It was almost as if this product was simultaneously too heavy and too light. The consistency felt nice; it seemed moisturizing going on; and I liked the sweet smell well enough, but it just looked so awful once it dried! I usually won't submit a negative review without having tried a product a few times, but I was just so horrified about how bad my hair looked with this that I don't want to use it again. Still deciding if I should try it again in winter when my hair is dryer.

After reading the reviews I was eager to get this product, but it has been a disappointment.
My first impression was of the scent. Though not extremely strong, this product has a very sickening scent. It's hard to describe, but it smells like something slightly sweet and burnt or something damp and musty. Though the scent fades away a little a day after application, it is very nauseating.
Additionally, though it has a good consistency (creamy, not oily or too thick) and my hair seemed to absorb it quickly, it is not very moisturizing for my 4c hair. (I apply the product to damp hair). Within a day my hair starts feeling dry. I wanted something that would last a bit longer.
It also had good slip, but nothing much better than the products I already use.
I intended to use this product as a detangler and daily moisturizer, but the scent alone has thrown me off. It has not been an excellent moisturizer either. I will not buy this again and would not recommend it to anyone with my hair type. If the scent were good I might have considered buying it again. Two stars for the slip and its consistency.

I so wanted to love this after reading the reviews, but it just goes to show how products can be so different for different people. This was very heavy and oily. I watered it down with distilled water and it was still too heavy and oily. I have low porosity, so maybe that has something to do with it.

Think I may have found my HG of leave ins! So pleased with everything about the product from the smell - soft, pleasant - to the consistency - light, creamy - to the results - SOFT, MOISTURIZED, BOUNCY coils. My hair is actually a mix of textures - 4a in the crown, 4b everywhere else except a large patch of hair over my left ear. Doesn't clump so, I think it's 4c. So, if your hair falls into ANY of those groups, your tresses will benefit from this product. I so pleased to have found a leave in that actually has slip, too. Far too many times, I purchased KCKT hoping that one day, I would get the results I read from reviewers who love Knot Today. That product NEVER made my hair feel soft or smooth. No slip, no conditioning, no nothing. But the Hair Dew? OMG! Am even using it as a curl refresher on 2nd day hair. Will be stocking up. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

This is a great product, but I'm not going to lie...The scent did get to me after a while. In the bottle, it smells wonderful, like a sugar cookie dream. However, when the Dew is applied to the hair, it has a sort of maple-y syrupy scent that I'm not too fond of. After a few times of use, I gave the product away.

This does make my hair soft eventually, but it doesn't absorb very well so I can only use it on twists or it leaves a white residue for a while. It also works much better on dry hair than wet for me, so maybe it has to do with porosity (mine is low, I think). It also has that burnt sugar smell, which people seem to like but it makes me really nauseous if I smell too much of it. The smell doesn't linger so it's not a problem in my hair, but I semi hold my breath when applying it! I'll give it more time, but I may not repurchase because I'd like a leave in that I can use on twists and on loose hair.

I waited a long time to try any Oyin product because I didn't know what to pick and didn't want to buy everything. Now 15 months into my natural journey, I realize I still needed to find a great leave-in and also based on where I live, I need to avoid glycerin since 95% of the time, our dew points and humidity are very high. I love this product, it's light-weight even in it's maple scent, yet suprisingly moisturizing and slippery enough for my dense, mostly 4a, a little 3c and 4b (for want of a better classification) hair types. I first bought the 8 oz bottle but plan to order the larger bottle from Oyin.

I love this product. Nothing that I have tried so far has worked as great on my hair as this product. The ingredients are a prefect coctail for my hair. I wish that it was not as fragrant. The only grounds that it loses points for me is on frangance or smell. Not everyone wants to smell like maple syrup and even if you want to smell like maple syrup today, it doesn't mean you will want to smell like maple syrup tomorrow. I would suggest a frangance free formulation for those of us who are really senstive to smell. This product line doesn't stink, I have tried some natural care products line that had some an off putting smell that effected my mood in a bad way (aroma therapy). As far as I am concerned, it doesn't matter that this product did not stink. As a Natural, I should have a choice in having fabulous hair and still haviing a choice in what fragrance I will be wearing. You cannot wear frangances with the Oyin line, they are combos perfumes /body washes, which is okay if that is what you want. I JUST WANT FABULOUS HAIR!!!! This product delivers in that category. I commend them for that and want to reiterate that this is not an unpleasant smell, but it is tooooo loud. Way too loud for me. So I have to choose betweeen faboulous hair or if I want to smell like maple syrup, which I don't most days. I mixed a bottle of this with an unscented leave in conditioner to try and mellow the smell out. The product doesn't work as well for me diluted like this, but what can I say and even then I still get a strong wiff of Maple Syrup. I hope Oyin is reading this. Some of us naturals just want faboulous hair, we do not want you to chose what perfume we are going to wear today. Please consider a frangant free formulation or a formulation with less frangance in it. But for the smell, I would have given this a 5. Based on the smell, I wanted to give it a 3 star, but I couldn't because the product works that well. So, I knocked off a point even though it should have been two for the smell.

OMG. This stuff is amazing! I have 4A-4B type hair that tends to be more wavy than curly and for some reason my hair is very, very tangly. No matter if I detangle before I wash, during the wash, and after the wash, it's still going to be tangled. I always hear people say how a product just melted their tangles, and I would think that would never be me. Well I'm here to tell you this stuff melted my tangles away! I lost about 80-90% less hair during my detangling session. I'm so happy and as long as they keep making this stuff, I will buy it.

3c-4b hair, 3-5". This stuff is the business! I use it as a leave-in/morning refresher and it does a great job of moisturizing my hair. I LOVE the smell - was worried about the smell descriptions from the other reviews but I don't smell sugar/butter/maple syrup. Frankly, I don't know what the smell is but I love it and would use it as a body lotion if one came with this scent. Definitely a HG product for me!

This product is amazing for moisturizing my hair when it becomes dry, stiff, brittle and tangled.

This is a staple in my house. It gives a lot of slip to our hair, especially after a fresh co wash. I often use it when styling my 2 year olds hair. The only thing is it tends to dry up faster on my baby's hair, but she will not let us wrap her hair at night, so....Also, the smell is yummy, like graham crackers with frosting on them.

I love the results that this product gives my curls. It leaves them feeling as smooth as butter. It has lots of great natural ingredients in it that really make the hair look and feel stronger as well. And, it is one of the most awesome detanglers that I have ever used as well.
The only con that I have about this product is its smell. It is supposed to have a light, sweet, buttery-sugar scent. I find it to be rather overpowering instead. Which is why, I don't choose to use it all the time in my hair. However, based upon the product's performance, it truly is a winner in my book!

I have type 3a/b hair..... and this leave-in product left my curls limp, greasy and coated looking. Sorry to rain on other people's happy parade, but this one is not working well for me.

I have thick, coarse 4b/4c curls and I think this stuff saved my hair for the winter. It keeps my hair moisturized and soft throughout most of the day which is exactly what I need. Plus, I love that there's no glycerin in the product. I'm in a really dry area for half a year so I usually need products without glycerin in it. As far as detangling goes, I guess it's okay. My hair gets tangled so badly and the KCKT does a much better job at detangling so I won't be using the hair dew as a detangler. Regardless, I bought this for moisturizing and it did exactly that.

I do not like the smell too much....In fact... I think it's giving me a headache... But the slip and the moisture are worth it! It's great on wet and dry hair for detangling. I finally fond a Leave in I want to use everyday! Highly recommend!

This product is very good to refresh a wash and go. In the morning, I simply wet my hair, put this on and seal with a oil. My hair stays moisturize for the whole day. Can wait to purchase in the 32oz.

This is a wonderful product that I regret waiting for so long to try. My hair is so much more moisturized now after using it and it feels so soft. I seal with a shea butter blend after applying it. This product layers well for me and doesn't build up or make my hair feel sticky. This has become a staple for me.

Finally tried it and loved it. The smell faded which I loved because my hubby's nose is sensitive. I've had 3+ day moisture which is a must in this cold weather.

LOVE IT! This is a supremely awesome leave-in. It's light, doesn't leave a residue, and smells great! If you use too much the smell can seem a bit overbearing to some, but I like it. I've had the best results using this as my base leave-in and going over the frizzy "problem areas" with Oyin Whipped Pudding to make sure my hair stays styled all day.

I have been actually using this for about 2 weeks and I love it. I've just been using it at night and I put my bonnet on. In the morning, my hair is so alive and soft. I have used it a couple of times, just as a pick me up. It's great.

A common thread that Oyin is fantastic with, is the smell of their products, and the Hair Dew is no exception to this rule. Along with the wonderful scent, it provides excellent moisture to my hair. I use it first as a leave-in, but I also use it on second day hair to refresh my twist-outs. Not only do I plan to repurchase this, but it will probably be a staple product for me.

I use this product as a leave-in. I had been on a search for a creamy leavin that does not leave a film or sticky on my hair. I have thick hair and color treated so my hair needs moisture daily. When I first applied the product, I felt this stuff sinking into my hair. This product has not left a film on hair when I did a twist out with the Donna Marie super butter cream. This product plays well with other stylers and very moisturing for my hair. I am going to retwist my hair with this product. I plan on using this with the burnt sugar pomade for a braidout. I would suggest this product and I give it five curlies because of the moisture! I have 3c/4a hair and this stuff is a staple as my leave in and its glycerin free, thats a plus for color treated curlies!

Another decent product ruined by an overbearing smell. This smells just like the Burnt Sugar Pomade; sweet sugar cookies in the bottle, nasty maple syrup on the hair. I used this as a leave-in/detangler. It did a so-so job when it came to detangling (not the greatest, but not the worst), the strong smell triggered a migraine, and it initially made my hair very poofy yet soft (by the end of the day, the softness was gone) So, I guess all I have to say about this is, meh...
